Brainstorming
After a lot of searching and brainstorming I found Nature Care Village in Rishikesh from booking.com. Truly the place speaks for its name. Once you reach there you shall feel yourself in the lap of mother nature.
Uttarakhand Roadways
This winter we were in relax and unwind mode so instead of driving we chose to take public transport. So, I was searching for an offbeat destination approachable by public transport.
Driving Tractor
You will experience how its like to live a life of a common Indian villager understanding where our food comes from and people who are behind it. You can experience untouched nature and the age old culture and traditions sustaining by it.
Fishermen
Their eco village welcomes those who want to experience authentic village life of North India also who wants to unwind from the hustle and bustle of the city life and enrich themselves with the feeling of tranquility in lap of mother nature.
Jakhan River
- 30 minutes from the Dehradun Airport
- 18 km from the center of Rishikesh
- Next to the Rajaji National Park
- Alongside the spring river Jakhan
- Straight in the farm fields
You can also enjoy the walks in the reserve, swim in crystal clear Fresh Spring River, enjoy farm produced fresh fruits and veggies, food prepared in traditional Ayurvedic way.
Organic Farm
Fresh vegetables and fruits are sourced either from their own farms or neighboring farms for preparing all the meals. They use only fresh ingredients and cook as per traditional Indian village recipes passed on to generations. Their kitchen uses fresh spring water for cooking and cleaning dishes. Meals are slow cooked to preserve the juices and nutrients for enriching health rather than just taste.
Birdwatching
This is a real haven away from the hustle of urban life. A true offbeat destination in the proximity of bustling Haridwar and Rishikesh. Loved the peace and quiet. The river was calming. The villagers were a delight. Jag and his parents made us feel so welcome and are so knowledgeable about all the plants. We got fresh, organically grown food. The meals were so tasty and plentiful. Came away feeling so relaxed and ready to face the world again.
